Tasty Tuesday: Bacon Cheeseburger Rotini

I’ve been on a real cooking kick lately and Travis is loving it!
I actually made a whole bunch of recipes that I’ve had pinned on Pinterest and they have all been a success!
After one of my shopping trips for ingredients, I noticed a recipe on the back of a pack of Target brand shredded cheese I bought and thought that it looked and sounded pretty good so it got added to my to make list.

Bacon Cheeseburger Rotini
(Sorry for the not so perfect pictures! Trying to cook at night and not so great lighting in the kitchen!)
Here is how to make it:
Ingredients:
-6 slices of Bacon
-1 lb. ground beef
-2 cups water
-1 can (10.75 oz) condensed tomato soup
-1/4 cup ketchup
-2 1/2 cups rotini
-1 cup Ceddar Jack Shredded Cheese

Cook the bacon until crip.
Let drain.
Cook the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain.
Stir in water, soup, ketchup, and rotini noodles and heat to a boil.
Reduce heat and cover. Let simmer for 15 mins. until pasta is tender. Stirring occasionally.
Sprinkle with cheese and bacon.
Let stand 2 mins until cheese is melted.
We ate some garlic bread with it but any other bread would be delicious as well.
ENJOY!!

The 7 month Adventures of Miss P

Holy cow!
How did my baby just turn 8 months old?
Time is flying by WAY too fast!
Well, guess that means it is time to recap her 7 month adventures.
Started the month off with our monthly photoshoot on her 7 month birthday.
That evening, she started Army crawling REALLY well! AHHHHH!
I am so thanksful she waited until Travis got home before she decided to become mobile!
She turned 7 months old on Christmas Eve so she got to experience her very first Christmas this month.
And HOLY PRESENTS, BATMAN!!!!
Talk about one spoiled child!!!!

We started our Christmas morning by opening her MANY presents. She was a little confused why we would open something, show it to her real fast, then put it aside.
But she sure look cute later in the day in her pretty dress!

She has had some fun playing with her toy from both sets of grandparents.

She has become a little acrobat with her daddy’s assistance.

And she has had some other fun times playing in the tub, crawling around, playing with all her toys and having fun with dad.

She also had some “not feeling so good” moments because 2 bottom teeth finally decided to pop on through! About darn time!  She’s been teething forever!

She has finally started eating some fruits and seems to be enjoying them as well.

Miss P is growing and changing way to fast and I have a feeling she’ll be walking before we know it because she LOVES to stand and walk with assistance. So who knows, that could be in her 8 month recap!
Stay tuned!!

Tulle Valentine’s Day Wreath Tutorial

I still had my live evergreen wreath on my front door from Christmas and wanted to replace it but wasn’t sure with what.
I didn’t have a Valentine’s Day wreath for my front door so I got to work on making one.
It was a pretty simple wreath to create as well.
Here’s the how-to:
Supplies:
-Wreath form- I used a 14″ form
-Tulle
-Ribbon
-Cardboard tube pieces (toilet paper or paper towel rolls)
-Felt

First, wrap your wreath form with ribbon.
Then, cut your tulle into long stripes. I cut mine 12″ long.
Tie your tulle into knots onto the wreath form leaving the ends long.
I used light pink and hot pink tulle so I alternated colors as I went.
I chose not to cover my whole wreath form in the tulle. I tied just a little over half way around.
I then created some rosettes out of felt.
Made some hearts using the cardboard tube pieces and painted them pink.
I cut some ribbon pieces and made little loops with them.
And lastly, I made some medallions out of paper and used some chipboard letters to spell out “love.”
I glued the medallions onto the area with the tulle.
I then clustered some of the hearts, rosettes and loops near the top of the opposite side.
If you recall, I clearly made way to many flowers, hearts and loops in the pics above. I had other plans and once I got started glueing, I wasn’t too keen on it.
In the end, I am pretty happy with how it turned out.
The hot pink sure pops off our teal front door too! 🙂
Linking up to some of these parties.

Dresser Mirror Turned Bathroom Mirror + Half Bath Reveal

We have been working on our half bath lately adding new tile floors and working on a new mirror-light project.
For about a week our bathroom was tore apart and the sink and toilet was sitting in between our kitchen and family room… awesome.
But it is finally complete with new floors, new mirror, and new art work!
 Here is it!
To start, I will show you the new mirror.
We used to just have a plain oval mirror on the wall, no frame, just a mirror.
We changed the light fixture before Travis deployed because it was just one of those ugly vanity lights of just bulbs but they didn’t center the hole for the light over the mirror when the house was built so when we changed it, the light fixture wasn’t centered over the mirror anymore. This was our solution!
BTW- when I suggested this to Travis, he thought it was crazy. lol
Travis found this dresser mirror at a little thrift store down the road from us for $5.
(He was a little excited to work on it when he brought it home so I didn’t have time to get a full before picture!)
It had two crazy points on the top of it above the very side moulding pieces so he cut them off and then gave the whole frame a sanding since it was just a stained wood frame.

Then we primed and painted the mirror a white gloss.
Once the mirror was complete, it was time to attached the light.
Travis found the center of the top portion of the mirror and drilled some holes.
A large hole in the center for the wires to come through and then a small hole on the top and bottom for the screws to attach the light fixture.
He then treaded the screws through the mirror.
The screws were a tad too long, so Travis took our Dremel and cut off the ends to make them the proper length.
Then we attached the light to make sure it all fit properly.
Light attached.
Once we made sure the light would be properly secured to the frame, we removed it to place the mirror back into the frame and attached wire to the back of the frame for hanging.
Before we hung the mirror, Travis covered up the light junction box with a cover that he drilled a hole in to pull the wires through.
Then we just took a Gorilla hook and inserted it into the wall and hung the mirror.
We reattached the light properly wiring it up and we were done!
Now the mirror and light are centered on the sink!
Here is the completed bathroom and new floors.
Entering the bathroom, you see the mirror immediately.
It is quite large but we like it!
To the right of the sink is the toilet and then my new Vintage Inspired Bird Art is on the wall next to the toilet.
Across from the toilet and next to the doorway, is this shelving unit on the wall.
It holds our spare towels and extra toilet paper plus it gives a little more space for decorations.
I have a picture frame on the shelf then some shells and drift wood we collected while living in VA.
I have plans for Travis to build me a new shelving unit at some point to replace this one.
Here is our new tile floor.
We also used this tile in our entry way of the house and it will soon be in the laundry room.
We wanted slate but not the upkeep of slate so this is a porcelain tile that was made to look like slate.
I wanted yellow accents in the bathroom and it took me FOREVER to find a yellow rug!
I finally found this one at World Market and debating on getting another one for in front of the toilet.
And here is another shot of the new mirror and sink just because I like it!
I got the towel at World Market as well.
There wasn’t much of a change to the bathrrom but I am so happy that the tile floors are finally down and we have the new mirror up.
