What’s in Your Handbag Series: Ginger from Ginger Snap Crafts

Welcome Ginger from Ginger Snap Crafts! Come take a look at what she keeps inside her handbag.

I am so excited to be here with all of you sharing what’s in my handbag! I am a wife to one amazing guy & a mom to 5 wild & crazy kiddos! 🙂 Over on my blog you can find tons of easy projects, recipes, ideas, organization tips & more. I’d love to have you over sometime! 🙂
Before today I thought the only people who wanted to see inside my bag were my kiddos ~ either my little ones looking for gum or my older kiddos looking for money! haha! 😉 OK….here we go!
My youngest is 4 so I am officially out of the diaper bag stage! Wahoo! 😉 I’ve had this pink Kaboo bag for a little while, and I just love it! (My hubby thinks it’s orange!) Anyways, it’s roomy, has a tech pouch for my mini i-pad & has a chevron print inside! I also have this black bag! I kind of go back & forth between the two of them. Let’s take a peek inside! 😉

1. Chapstick ~ I am definitely a chapstick girl! I don’t think I’ve worn lipstick since high school! ha! 😉
2. Lotion ~ I think I picked this up from a hotel somewhere! It smells so good!
3. Germ-X ~ Yes, I’m one of those moms! I’m always making my kiddos wash their hands.
4. Rubber bands ~ I have crazy hair! ha! Rubber bands are a must!
5. Wallet ~ I’ve had this one forever! I think I bought it at Walmart. It does the job. 😉
6. Ruler ~ Usually, I don’t carry a ruler, but I needed ruffle for this lamp so I brought the ruler to the store to measure how much to buy.
7. Toys ~ These belong to my little 4 year old sidekick! He loves Cars & Batman!
8. Phone ~ Yes, I’m the only blogger without a smart phone! I’m too cheap!
9. BIC pens ~ These are my favorite kind of pens. I swear I write better with them!
10. Snack ~ Also, for my side kick. He gets a little hungry sometimes!
11. Ice Cubes Gum ~ I love this gum!
12. Keys ~ My key fob is from Hobby Lobby! I love it! 🙂
13. Water Bottle ~ Also for my side kick ~ for when he gets thirsty or when my 11 year old forgets his water bottle for soccer practice.
14. Paint Chip ~ We are adding on to our house! I just finished painting, & I still had the paint chip in my bag. We chose the middle color ~ silver drop.
15. I-pad Mini ~ I love this little thing! I use it to post to instagram, take pictures in store for sponsored post & to check emails.
16. Grocery List ~ Yes, I’m a list maker. 😉 I always make a list for the grocery store each week.
17. Washi Tape ~ I’m a little washi tape obsessed. haha! I does come in handy though. A few weeks ago on the way to a birthday party the gift bag ripped all the way down the side. Washi tape to the rescue. We had the bag fixed up & looking cuter than ever in no time. 🙂

So now you know what’s in my handbag!
I’d love to keep in touch!
You can find me on my blog, instagram, pinterest & facebook. 🙂

Easy 4 Ingredient Cream Cheese Pie

I LOVE this pie!
It is SO easy and SOOOOO yummy!
It is a pretty much a lighter version of a cheesecake.
We normally make it around the holidays but it is good any time of year or for any occasion.
I made this for Easter this year since I knew my parents were coming to visit and it is one of their favorites as well.

It is a fast recipe to make ahead of time and just leave in your fridge until it is time to serve.
Here is how to make it:
Ingredients:
– 3/4 tsp. Vanilla
– 1/2 cup Confectionary Sugar
– 4 oz of Cream Cheese, sofened
– 8 oz tub of Cool Whip
– Graham Cracker Crust
– Fruit Pie topping or fresh fruit for topping of your choice.
 To Make:
– Blend cream cheese, vanilla, and confectionary sugar together.
– Once blended, fold in Cool Whip.
– Place in graham cracker crust and gently spread out.
– Top with your favorite topping.
– Chill for at least an hour before serving.
ENJOY!!!

What’s in Your Handbag Series: Heather from Our Life in a Click

Welcome Heather from Our Life in a Click showing off what’s in her handbag today.
Hi, I’m Heather from Our Life In a Click and I’m so thrilled to be participating in Allison’s “What’s In Your Handbag?” series!
I do love a good handbag but I usually stick with one for awhile when I find one that I like.  This particular one is from Madewell and I got it for my birthday last year and it’s been on my arm for the last 6 months or so.  I love how the leather is getting more distressed the more I use it.  I had been on the look out for the perfect saddle brown bag and this one was IT!
It’s huge, I know…but it holds my laptop and or camera if I need to take them somewhere.
So how do I keep it from becoming a giant black hole?
This little purse organizer has been my saving grace (Christmas gift from MIL a few years ago).
Here’s a rundown of what’s inside (minus my Iphone, since I was home the phone wasn’t in my purse).
1)I love this Fossil wallet!! It holds everything I need and I can even put my phone in there and just grab it if I don’t feel like carrying the whole purse.
2)Lip color
3)My daughter got me this cute Coach key ring and I use it for all of my store cards
4)Tissues (sometimes more than one pack)
5)Mints and gum
6)First aid supplies-Advil and Band Aids are key
7)Hand sanitizers (I didn’t realize I was carrying 3!)
8)My favorite aviator sunnies
9)Pens-I always prefer to use my own pens when I’m out & about (see #7)
10)Hand lotion
11)Car keys
12)Reusable shopping bag
I hope you enjoyed this little tour of my big handbag!
Thanks for reading and thank you Allison!

Thanks for sharing Heather! 🙂

“Slow Down Enjoy Life” Printable Vinyl Plaque

I have wanted to try inkjet vinyl for sometime now and finally decided to jump in and create a project with it.
I bought some inkjet printable vinyl from Expressions Vinyl but haven’t done anything with it until now since I wasn’t positive what I wanted to use it for but I am thrilled with how this came out.

I was seriously a little nervousto use this, why I have no idea!!
This was so simple and I love that you can print ANYTHING on the vinyl!

Here’s the how to:
Supplies:
Inkjet printable vinyl
-Paint
-Small wooden plaque
I started by cutting down my sheet of vinyl (it came as a 12×12) down to the size of a sheet of paper (8 1/2 x 11). I just used a sheet of computer printer paper as template and used my paper cutter to cut the vinyl.
After deciding what I wanted to print, I made sure to load the vinyl into my printer the proper way to it would print on the vinyl side. Printers are different so just pay attention how your paper loads through the printer when printing.
I printed this free printable that I found on another blog (Here is a link to the printable on Wishing Well Creations.)
The printable came as a 5×7 and I kept it that size so it would fit perfectly into the center of my plaque.
I then trimmed down my vinyl to fit inside the center of my plaque.
I also rounded the corners since the plaque is rounded in the inside portion.
I painted my plaque and let this dry.
I painted the border yellow to pop and then painted the inside white since the vinyl was white and I didn’t know if you would be able to see the paint through the vinyl.
I dry fitted the vinyl in the center of the center of the plaque to make sure it fit perfectly.
I started by peeling the vinyl on one end and placed it down.
I slowly pulled it back pressing down as I went so it wouldn’t mess up.
Here is a top view of placing the vinyl down.
Press out any air bubbles.
Here is it complete.
Again, make sure to smooth out any air bubbles so you don’t see them.
I hung it up in the bottom portion of our fireplace and I love how it came out!
I have no idea why I was so nervous to use it when it is so easy and awesome!!
I have 2 more sheets of it and can’t wait to use it again!

Simple Braided Ribbon Garland

I hope that you all had wonderful Easter with your family and friends.
I have another super easy and cheap project for you today.
You caught a glimpse of it on my spring mantle and today I am sharing.
It seriously it so easy and if you know how to braid, then you are good to go because that is the only skill you need for this! 🙂
Supplies:
-3 spools of ribbon in the colors of your choice.
I used 1/4 in ribbon but you may be able to try the next size up as well.
-Lighter (optional)
-Scissors
I started by burning the ends of my ribbon so it would prevent them from fraying.
Tie the ribbons together in a knot.
I placed something heavy on the ends of the ribbon and then just started braiding.
I did NOT cut my ribbon off the spool before braiding. It was a bit of a pain because I had to periodically untangle all the spools but since I didn’t know how much ribbon I would need exactly. I figured I would need to at least double my length if I measured it but wasn’t positive so I just kept them on the spools.
Continue braiding until you have the length you desire.
Then just place another knot in the end and burn the edges.
I actually brought mine down to my mantle when I thought I had the correct length. It was still too short so I just continued working on it until I had the proper length.
I love how it turned out!

I wish I had used slightly brighter colors but I am like it!

I like that it isn’t traditional garland as well.

What’s in Your Handbag Series: Anna from Directions Not Included

Well hello there! I’m Anna from Directions Not Included.
I’m so excited to be here to share what is inside my handbag.

I love a good handbag. Actually, I’m a recovering handbag-addict. My addiction is under control now and I have two that are currently in rotation. Both of these are Marc Jacobs bags that I scored at ridiculous discounts. The tote-like one is what I use to haul my laptop around for work and the leather one is my weekend/every day bag.

Handbags

Since I use two bags throughout the week (well, more actually if you count all my weekend clutches, etc) I need to contain my stuff in a way that is easy to move from handbag to handbag. This is my overview of what is almost ALWAYS in my bag. My iPhone, beautiful aqua wallet, my Stella & Dot makeup bag, and my super cheap purse organizer.

Handbag DirectionsNotIncluded

I have makeup issues. Okay, not really issues, but I love makeup and always have a full set of goodies on me. One of my besties sells Stella & Dot items so I keep all my fun stuff in a cute little bag from them. I could post for hours on makeup so I will refrain. These are just some of my every day essentials.

While makeup means a ton to me. I don’t leave home without these two. Ever. My iPhone and my pretty wallet. I scored this wallet thanks to my mother-in-law’s gift cards for my birthday a few years ago. Sadly, my original version was stolen last year around Halloween. Thankfully, I was able to finally find the same one. Obviously, you can tell it is my favorite color since my phone case matches the wallet. I have problems.

Now this is my lifesaver. I carry all sorts of stuff in my purse all the time. Business cards (both blog, consulting, and day job), essential oils (yes, I’m one of those), cables, hair ties, iPods, EpiPens, notebooks, etc. Carrying all of this loose in my handbag would be a mess. I found this cheap but practical organizer on Amazon and LOVE IT.

Handbag DirectionsNotIncluded3

I use the side pockets for all my small goodies, then use the central area for my home design notebook. It has my paint swatches, measurements, and fabric items with me at all times. I had this all scattered about for some time until Our Fifth House shared her secret.

I hope you find my handbag contents useful. Or maybe you cringe at how organized I can be!

 Thanks for having me, Allison!

Thanks for sharing your handbag Anna!!
