What’s in Your Handbag Series- Tauni from SNAP

The fabulous Tauni from SNAP is here today to share her handbag with all of you.
Hi! My name is Tauni. I first met Allison several years ago when she attended one of my first events for creative bloggers. She’s a great friend and I am so happy to be visiting today!

tauni

Let’s start this visit with a little admission on my part…
I have a problem. Really. I blame it on my friend Char.
See, she used to share beautiful links to handbags and shoes with me on a regular basis and more than once I clicked. More than once I bought…
Now I don’t even wait for the link. I am constantly looking for amazing shoes and handbags All. THE. TIME.
Interestingly enough, my favorite bag is one that I didn’t pick out or purchase. It’s a Michael Kors bag (sort of like this one) that my friend Steph, a self-proclaimed anti-shopper picked out for me last year…
Michael Kors handbag

Oh how I wish you could see her in all of her glory, rather than in my slightly shoddy photograph. She’s a beauty. The best part? This bag could rival Mary Poppins carpet bag for all the amazing it can hold.
No lie. People (namely my boys) love going to the movies with me, due to the number of treats they can smuggle in in my handbag.
Here are a few of the things I cart around with me every day…

Handbag

Let’s start in the top left.
I don’t care who you are, can you live without some sort of wet wipe in your bag? They’re great for messy faces, grubby hands and the food you just spilled on your clean clothes.
Based on my photos you’d think I only buy if it’s green. Not true, but I do love this little green Hobo wallet. It holds everything and the leather is sooo super-soft.
I live in Utah. Can we say dry? I can’t go anywhere without my favorite lotion.
Hand sanitizer. Does this really need an explanation?
I always have a notebook on me…It’s for all of the billion dollar ideas I am sure will come to fruition some day. I bought this green one on clearance from Target.
I can’t leave the house without my favorite Le Pen.
iPhone charger, purchased specifically for my bag. Mainly because my phone is ALWAYS dead.
Washi tape. Don’t ask.
Gum. Fresh breath and all that.
Sewing kit. Apparently I don’t just spill on myself (see wipes), but I also have issues with tearing my clothes. I pick up mini sewing kits whenever I can find them. I found this little set in a dollar bin and grabbed at least three.
Gift cards. I seem to have a collection (this is just a few). I don’t know how I collected all of them, but I never seem to remember that I have them.
Missing from the photo? The 999 rumpled receipts and 25 tubes of chapstick that are always in the bottom of my bag.
There you have it. I can’t say that it’s uber interesting, but it’s what’s in my bag.
Looking for more bag envy? I ran a similar series a couple of year’s ago over on my blog. Go check it out
Thanks so much for sharing Tauni!!

Miss P is 2!!

Yep, you read that right!
Miss P is officially 2 years old!
I have no idea how that is even possible but it is true! Time sure is flying!
Saturday was her actually birthday and we had her party that day as well.
I decided that I was for sure going to throw her a party about 2 1/2 weeks earlier so I really had to get my butt in gear quickly!
I went with the Ice Cream Party theme and I think it turned out rather cute if I do say so myself! 🙂
Here are the invitations I created.
I then created a few other items that coordinated with the invitations.
Here is the birthday girl all ready to party.
My mom created the ice cream shirt for her and I created the tutu at the last minute.
I had to wake her up from nap for her party so she wasn’t in a super fabulous party mood but she eventually warmed up.

With her daddy.
And notice her puffy, bruised eye?! Earlier in the morning she smacked her eye on the corner of Travis’ nightstand and it swelled and bruised immediately. This girl is so accident prone! lol
We grilled out some hamburgers and hot dogs and then I made pasta salad, potato salad, and a fruit salad as sides.
Everyone enjoyed just hanging out in the pretty weather we were having that day.
Miss sassy!
It definitely took her a while to get in the party mood.
P got a hold of the camera and wanted to take some pics.
Here is her shot of Miss S just hanging out.
I was thrilled that Miss S let other people hold her and didn’t freak out so I could enjoy the party too.
Another shot that P took of Miss S’ boyfriend Mr. J with his daddy.
It’s her party and she’ll cry if she wants too!
I took the camera away from her and she was not very pleased.
We asked if she wanted to open gifts and she took a be line to the house.
Everyone was very gracious with the gifts and she had a blast opening presents.
She wanted to open every single thing as soon as she opened them so it was a little difficult to get her to just put it aside and keep going.
She got some new dolls, a few fun kitchen items, a bubble machine, some dress up clothes, and a camera all her own!
After she opened her gifts, she tried to share some of her toys.
She tried to give Miss S some toy horses and then Mr. J one of her dolls.
And we ended the day with ice cream and cupcakes before just hanging out some more.
We actually remember to sing Happy Birthday to her this year and give her a candle! Yay! She wasn’t so sure what was happening but when we told her to blow out the candle, she did!
It was a fun day and luckily it stayed sunny and gorgeous out until the party was over and then the sky opened up!
I still can’t believe that she is 2!!!

Stay tuned for all the fun details on the party itself!
I will have a post next week on just the decor and then some posts on the projects I created for the party. 🙂

Happy Memorial Day + Military Ball

Happy Memorial Day everyone!
I hope you all have a great day with your family and friends!
During your time though, please take a moment and remember those that weren’t so lucky to come home from war after fighting for our freedom.
Thursday night, Travis and I attended his Military Ball and at every ball there is always an empty table with only 1 chair that symbolizes those that didn’t come home. There is one candle to represent hope, one rose to represent the loved ones of the fallen, a yellow ribbon representing loyally waiting for those serving to come home, a wine glass turned over to represent that the fallen soldier can not participate in the toast, one place setting with a lemon wedge on the plate representing the bitter loss of a loved one and then salt on the plate to represent the tears shed for those lost.
It is a touching ceremony so I hope all of you to remember those that could not come home to their loved ones.
Now on to a slightly happier note, thought I would share some pics from that night.
Travis and I all dressed up for the ball.
He sure is handsome isn’t he?! 🙂

The Squadron Guidon Flags

Travis and his First Sergeant waiting for dinner to start.
It was nice to get all dressed and go out without the girls for a little dinner and dancing.

What’s in Your Handbag Series: Katelyn from Learning, Creating, Living

Happy Wednesday!
Katelyn from Learning, Creating, Living is here today sharing what she keeps inside her handbag.
Hi! My name is Katelyn & I blog over at Learning Creating Living & I could not be more excited to be guest posting for the what’s in your handbag series today. I love handbags so this series is perfect for me.
At the moment I carry around this brown faux leather Merona handbag that my husband bought me at Target. I usually get new handbags with every season (crazy, huh?) but I love this handbag so much I’ve been using it for almost a year!
I never add anything new to my handbag, so this is pretty much what you’ll always see if you ever take a peek.
1. My favorite sunglasses.
2. Doublemint & Extra gum – You can never have too many decisions when it comes to gum!
3. My wallet that is filled with lots of change & weighs a ton.
4. Antibacterial from Bath & Body – I always stock up on the Fall scents because they are my fav.
5. Lip Balm – I never go anywhere without having Softlips & Baby Lips.
6. Car keys with no key chains, they’re boring, I know.
7. Wet ones & a weekly planner – You can never be to clean or organized.
8. My handy dandy iPhone 5 – It’s pretty much my baby.
9. Pens – I tend to loose them so I can never have enough.
10. Lastly, lots of bobby pins, cause every girl knows that you loose those right & left!

There you have it!
There’s nothing really exciting in my handbag, but I can’t go anywhere without having these things.

Thanks so much Allison for letting me guest post for the series & thank you guys for checking out what’s in my handbag!
Stop by Learning Creating Living & say hello, I’d love to meet you!

Thanks so much for sharing Katelyn!!
