“Sound of My Heart” Nursery Printable

I have a sweet printable for you today that would be perfect in a nursery.
I saw this quote and immediately wanted to use it in a printable.
I created it in numerous color options so you can pick which one will work best for you.

I designed it as an 8×10 but you can print it small if you’d like.
It should work as is but I selected the “strink to fit” option for my printer. Just play with your printer settings since printers are different.

Select your color option below to download.

Burlap Mini Garden Flag with Painted Pumpkins #CreativeBuzz

I am a sucker for a mini garden flag.
I have a small collection of them that go with holidays, the seasons, and some are just for fun.
I realized though I don’t have one that is specifically for fall. How that is possible, I have no idea!?!

So since this month’s #CreativeBuzz theme was Pumpkins, I knew that I could create my own fall inspired mini garden flag with some pumpkins on it.

Here is what I created and I love how it turned out!

Here is how I created it so you can make one for yourself.

Supplies:
-Laminated Burlap- I found a small roll at Michael’s
-Acrylic Paint
-Paint or stencil brushes
-Cutting machine- I used my Silhouette and I used this image from the Silhouette Store.
-Cardstock Paper
-Outdoor Mod Podge
-Sewing Machine
-Thread

I used one of my garden flags as a template to cut the size of my burlap.
The flags dimensions are 12 x 18. I cut my burlap to the length but my burlap was a little thinner than the 12″ and that was ok with me.

Then cut out your design in your cardstock to create your stencil.
I separated my image into two projects and blew the pumpkin up as large as I could on the 12×12 sheet.
Be sure to space your vines out to give you enough paper border so paint doesn’t spill over the edges.

Save the NEGATIVE of the stencil!
Only piece you will save will be the shading piece of the pumpkins.

My stencil had a few different layers so I started with the bottom layer and placed it where I wanted it on the burlap.
Using green acrylic paint, I filled it in.

Remove the stencil and let dry a few minutes before placing the next layer on top.

Once your first layer is dry enough, place your next stencil on top.

Fill in the stencil.
I chose to use a darker orange for this layer.

Once that layer is dry, place the next stencil layer on top.

I then used a brighter orange paint to give my pumpkin some dimension.

Once the orange paint is dry, you can add the stems and vines.

I then wanted “welcome” on my sign so I quickly cut that out and just stenciled it below the pumpkins.

Once your paint is completely dry, I waited overnight to be sure, pull out your Outdoor Mod Podge and coat the the entire front panel of the flag.

Be sure the cover the paint really well.
Let the Mod Podge dry overnight.

Time pull our your sewing machine to sew the flag together.
If you want to do a no sew version, you could always hot glue it together. Just be sure to leave a space for the bar of your flag holder. And I have no idea how long a hot glued flag will last out in the elements.

I used a brown thread to go around the flag first.
Sew across the top then move down 2 inches and sew across again. This will be where you place the bar of your flag holder.

I wanted to add a little something else so I then stitched with orange thread as well.

And you are done!

Hang it outside and enjoy!

I’m thrilled how it turned out!
Not sure what took me so long to make one!

Right now it hangs out by some of my flower pots but they will soon be replaced with pumpkins and mums.

Be sure to check out all the other ideas from the fabulous #CreativeBuzz ladies!

BeddingStyle Giveaway!

** I was given bedding from BeddingStyle.com to review. All opinions are 100% my own. **
Happy Tuesday!
I have something fun for you today.
Do you want some new bedding to give your bedroom and fresh look? Is your bedding just tore up or dirty from your pets, kids, or well, you?!
Then today is your lucky day!
One lucky winner will win $200 to BeddingStyle.com! Whooo!
Shopping for bedding can be a daunting task! So many places to shop with so many options, it can get overwhelming fast! This is where BeddingStyle.com comes in.
BeddingStyle.com has so many styles to choose from, from top designers like Vera Wang, Candice Olsen, Nicole Miller, Betsy Johnson and many more!!
I have been in the market, ok, I am in the market frequently for new bedding, since I was getting tired of our current look.
I loved it when I first saw it, by the time I finally bought it, I still LIKED it but wasn’t in love anymore but still went with it. So I have pretty much secretly been looking for new bedding ever since this came home. Shhh… don’t tell Travis! 😉

I was so excited that I was able to pick some new bedding from BeddingStyle.com so after browsing the selections, I decided to go with this Milan Bedding by City Scene duvet cover to review.
I was a little excited to get it on the bed as soon as it came, notice the lines from it being folded…oops, that I went on upstairs and got it on my bed.
It is gray, blue, with bright yellow accents and I am amazed how the gray and blue just so happen to match our wall color and curtains exactly!!! PERFECT!
I love the main pattern on top and then the change of pattern and color on the back for a little pop!
The fabric is soft which is obviously a good thing since you’ll be cuddled underneath it.
And I also love that the pattern on the front of the duvet, also goes with our stenciled wall across the room. It’s like I planned it!
And I just wanted to give you a up close shot of the fabrics because, why not?!
Also, I forgot to take a picture of it but the closure for the duvet cover is so nice too. I had one in the past that was just at one end of the cover so you could see the buttons and the insert. This one folds over a little then has the buttons which are hidden so you have no idea what is inside.
Ok so… who can use or wants some new bedding?! Raise your hand and say “I!”
All you have to do is enter in the rafflecopter widget below and you can be picking out your new bedding next week!
PLEASE NOTE: by entering this giveaway, you are giving BeddingStyle.com permission to contact you through email.  Good?! Good!!
Winner will be announced Wednesday, October 1st.
GOOD LUCK!!

Fall Ombre Yarn Wreath

I originally shared the tutorial over at A Little Tipsy on Sept. 3, 2014.

I shared this tutorial over at A Little Tipsy the beginning of the month and want to share it with all of you as well.
It is an easy wreath and perfect to spruce up your home for fall.
Here is how you can make one for yourself.
Supplies:
-Wreath Form
-Yarn- 3 in the color of your choice- light, medium and dark in shade
-Twine
-Ribbon
-Fall Berry Picks
-Other fall picks (optional)
-Hot Glue Gun
I began by marking the wreath form in four spots where I wanted to start and stop each color of yarn.

Start by wrapping the lightest yarn color first on the top portion of the wreath.
When it is time to start the second, medium color of yarn, overlap the first color slightly leaving space between the the new color yarn so you can see the light shade through.
Wrap the second color yarn down both sides of the wreath form.
Then wrap the third, darkest color across the bottom of the form again overlapping the previous color.
I wanted to add more texture, so I took some twine and wrapped it in the center of the darkest green on my wreath.
I then tied a ribbon and bow in the center of the twine and added some fall colored berries.
I just pushed the berry picks through and behind the twine behind the ribbon so the bow would cover it up.
I used a small piece of yarn to create a loop on the top to hang it.
 And that’s it!!
You now have a pretty new fall wreath to display!

One of the best things about this wreath…it only cost me $4.00 because I only had to buy the wreath form since I had everything else on hand from past projects! LOVE THAT!!
