Printable New Year’s Eve Fun Facts Game

New Year’s Eve is TOMORROW!
Holy Moly!
2015 is literally JUST around the corner!
I created a fun little game that you can play while you are waiting to ring in the new year.
It is a fun game for adults and even kiddos full of fun facts about New Year’s Eve celebrations here in America and around the world.

The game consists of a fill in the blank sheet with the fun facts, an answer key, and 12 separate fact sheets.
I designed it so you can print out the 12 fact sheets, I would suggest printing them as 5×6’s or 4×6’s and place them in frames around your space to be read throughout your party.
Then, print out the fill in the blank sheets for the numbers of people needed and either let them walk around and fill in when they read each fact OR make it harder by picking up all the facts and having them fill out the facts by memory for a prize.
You learn something new while playing a fun game!

There are 14 sheets total so I combined them into one large PDF file and uploaded it to box.com.
You can download your game below.

Holiday Home Tour

It is Christmas Eve and thought I would FINALLY share my holiday home tour.
Not much has changed from the last few years so I was debating on even sharing at all and decided to do it anyways.
I will start by the front door and work my way around the house.
Wooden snowflake hanging in front of the mirror by the front door with a little snowman on the table along with the little metal box we keep the Christmas cards as they arrive.
I hung my stenciled burlap Christmas art next to the front door.

On our way to the tree. I placed it in front of the window in the front of the house like I normally do so you can see it from outside.

I kept the little round table that is normally by our couch where it was just pushed it into the corner and then placed a crystal tree and a painted horse statue that was given to Miss P last year on it.
No special theme for our tree. I love glass ornaments so my collection always gets used along with childhood ornaments and a few handmade ones.
I put burlap ribbon on the tree and then also used a sheer ribbon with blue, green, and pink glitter stripes on it around the tree as well to tie in the new colors I was bringing into my decor.
Swing around the the mantle area.
I kept the other table that is normally by the couch and placed some snowman on it.
Also hung my Christmas subway art on the wall by the mantle.
On the mantle is the new glitter ball wreath I created this year hanging on an old window, the letters JOY that I bought at Target last year along with a small tree and the fun reindeer I got at Pier 1 last year. I placed all that on burlap draped across the mantle.
Stockings are hung from simple hooks and then in the fireplace I just placed another small tree with some candle sticks and a 25 plaque.
I still love my centerpiece decor for my dining room table so I did it again this year. Only change would be to two new chunky candles. I found these glittery birch bark candles at Khols and loved them so I snagged a few.
Entertainment center decor hasn’t changed too much either. I just added those cute little wooden trees that I found at Michaels.
Placed out two small trees next to the entertainment center which is decorated with a bunch of handmade glass ornaments and other handmade ornaments.
This little silver tinsel tree has a home under the island in the kitchen and I feel like it pops more against the new yellow paint job.
And lastly, I placed these two little silver birds I found at Michael’s this year on the window sill above our stove. Then I just placed a painting I painted a few weeks ago next to them in the window.
And that’s it! Told ya it was nothing too different than in years past.
We will be some where new next year so it will be interested to see how I am able to decorate.
Enjoy your Christmas Eve and have a fabulous Christmas as well!!

Glitter Ball Cone Tree Topper

I know Christmas is only a few days away but I still have a Christmas project to share with you today.
I created this tree topper when I was in TN in November and totally forgot to take pictures of it once we put our large tree up. OOPS!
I could have saved this tutorial until next year but thought I would go ahead and share it anyways.
I decided to create this topper the same way I created my new Glitter Ball Wreath and used the same balls as well to tie them together.
Here is how I created it.
Supplies:
-Styrofoam cone
-Low temp glue gun (high temp will melt your Styrofoam)
-Glitter ball vase filler- got it at Hobby Lobby
-Scissors or something sharp
-Glitter and glue- optional
Ignore the ribbon… no idea why it is in this picture! lol

To begin, take a sharp pair of scissors or knife and shove it into the center of the bottom of the cone.
Work it around making it wide to create a hole.
Make the hole large enough to slip onto the top of your tree.
Then, start gluing the large size ball onto the cone beginning on the bottom of the cone.
Work your way around and up the cone until it is completely covered.
Next, glue the small balls in the gaps of the larger balls.
And that’s it!
If you want, you could always glitter the entire cone with a coordinating glitter so the white of the cone doesn’t shine through any gaps.
Then pop it on top of your tree and that’s it!
You can also glitter the bottom of the cone. I didn’t do it because I thought the branches of the tree would cover it more but you can see it a little bit.
Adds a nice little pop of color to the top of the tree and ties in the other bright colors I brought into the decor this year.

4 Free & Simple Christmas Printables

Christmas is officially 10 days away!! CRAZY!
So today I created some simple Christmas printables for you.
I know most of you are probably all decorated but I have a few options available so hopefully one will match the decor in your home.
I created each as an 8×10 but you could easily print them smaller if that is what you would like.
I print mine through Picasa in which it let me play with the options of cropping or shrinking the image to fit on my page but I didn’t have any problems with them.
Just play with the settings in Picasa or your printer settings. For some reason, mine printed better through Picasa than through the software for my actually printer. It was cutting off one side of my image in my printer software for some reason.
Anyways… pick which design you would like or save all 4 below!

Happy Holidays!!!
