I was shopping at Home Goods one afternoon and came across a sign in their Halloween decor that said “Annual Witch Rides” and thought it was really cute and knew that I could easily create my own.
I didn’t like that it said “Witch Rides” though because well… you don’t ride a witch, lol, so I changed it to “Broom Rides” instead.
This is a super simple project!
Here’s the how-to:
Supplies:
– Vinyl
– Paint and Mod Podge
– Ribbon (optional)
– Wood or Canvas (I already had this piece of wood that was from an old desk we had so I just used that.)
– Cutting Machine
I began by painting the piece of wood a pumpkin orange.
Once dry, I coated it with Mod Podge to seal it.
I had some Halloween ribbon and used it on the edges to cover up the rough edges where the board was cut. Plus, it just adds a little something extra.
Next, I used my Silhouette machine to cut the vinyl so I designed my sign in the software and got it to my liking.
I first cut out my design on regular cardstock to check the size of everything and make sure I liked the layout on the board itself.
I’m glad I did because I decided to make everything a little bigger.
Once I was happy with the size of everything, I cut out the design with my Silhouette on my vinyl.
I used black glitter vinyl for this project.
I started at the top of my board and worked my way down applying the vinyl.
I used transfer tape to apply the vinyl and rub it really well to make sure it stuck.
Pulled off the transfer tape and moved on to the next area.
I am really happy with how it came out!!
I hung it by my front door and I’m thrilled to have a fun new decoration.
I am more of a cutesy Halloween decorator so it fits right in!
So, who wants to come for a broom ride?
