Birthday Celebrations

My birthday was Monday.
I am now 27… exciting year. No, not really! haha

Well, this past weekend we headed down to TN.

Saturday, we drove over to Cookeville to meet my sister and nephew for a quick birthday lunch.
It was great to see both of them.

With my sister and nephew, Cooper

Then Sunday afternoon, we had tickets to the Titans/Broncos football game.
Of course, this day was SUPER cloudy, windy and cold!
But we still had a great time at the game.
Travis is a Broncos’ fan and I am a Titan’s so it made for an interesting game between the two of us. Unfortunately, the Titan’s lost by 6 in the end but we had fun.

The Jets that flew over the stadium before the game.

We were at the VERY top. No joke- last row of the stadium so this is the view we had.
Even though we were at the top the seats were still great.

We had to get a picture with the fence behind us to show that we were at the top.
I really wish this was a closed in wall instead of a fence to block the wind that was whipping up there! BBBUUURRRRRRRR!!!

The view of the Nashville skyline from our seats.
The “Batman” building has always been one of my favs.

Shot of some of the action.

Trying to get the field behind us for a pic.

After the game, we had to head back to my parent’s house to pick up our dog and my parent’s dog and drive back to KY.

Once we got home, we celebrate my birthday because Travis had to go out of town Monday.

We began with Cake. YUM!
We stopped at Kroger on the way home and got my favorite cake- Cookies and Cream. 🙂
It is chocolate cake with oreos on top and cookie pieces on the side.

This is my parent’s dog. We share a birthday and have MANY pictures together on our birthday so of course we needed one this year. He turned the big 13.

Gift time! 🙂
I got a couple crafting tools from my parents.
This creasing tool from Martha Stewart and a cricut cartridge were two of my gifts.
They also got me some clothes, jewelry and beads for my pandora bracelet.

Travis got me this green jar and something else for my cricut.

There is a story behind this jar.
I saw it the very first time we ever went to our favorite store, Tickled Pink and was in LOVE instantly. It is green depression glass but can’t remember the pattern name- princess something.

Well, I drool over this thing EVERY time we go there. It sits in the same place, in front of a window with it glowing so fabulously. One time I finally was going to get it. I looked at the tag thinking it said $9.99. Well, it was actually $39.99. The 3 was just written a little farther over from the rest. So I ended up putting it back.

So one of the times we went, Travis grabbed it when I walked upstairs, bought it and hid it in the car without me knowing. He finally came upstairs and I questioned him about what took him so long since I didn’t know what he was doing. Sneaky, Sneaky!

The last time we went, I noticed it was gone. Was totally sad and pointed out to Travis that someone finally purchased it. Little did I know that it was him!

So needless to say when I opened my gift, I was completely surprised and thrilled to see what it was! I love him and his sneaky ways!

So that was my low-key birthday weekend.

So Happy Wednesday!

It made me smile to see a post on Tennessee. We retired and have just moved to Montana to be close to our daughter. We lived in a small town called Woodbury, Tennessee. Happy you had fun!
