Today I have a really quick and easy project to share with you. I have been loving all of the embroidery hoop decorations as well as the adorable stitcheries. Well here is how you can make your own.
Start off with your hoop and cut a piece of fabric. You can also add a piece of batting behind your fabric if you don’t want your thread to show through.
Using your hoop as a frame draw your design with a pencil.
Stick your fabric in your embroidery hoop
Use 3 strands of floss. (most come with 6 strands so you will need to separate them)
Next you are going to use a back stitch and stitch directly over your pencil lines.
Not sure what a back stitch is here’s a quick picture tutorial.
You can change colors, add embellishments, or even color in parts with crayons (I’ll have a tutorial for that on my blog soon). These are so fun and so addicting.
Next cut your fabric down and use hot glue to secure it to the back or you can just tape it like I did so I can switch it out for the next holiday.
