It’s that time of the week to party!
Today is our 4 year wedding anniversary.
I wanted to share everything we did for our wedding, it was a bit of a DIY wedding but it all turned out looking fabulous! (Sorry for the bad pictures! 4 years ago, blogging wasn’t on my mind and these are just some snap shots people gave me.)
We made our wedding invitations.
I made our wedding programs.
I wanted a colored/monogrammed aisle runner but didn’t want to pay the money so my mom sewed the runner together and I painted the monogram on it.
We just draped ribbon on the pews and we made the little white wreaths for the end of them after something I saw in Martha Stewart Weddings. All they are is white styrofoam wreath form, tissue paper cut into MANY circles, and white pearl berries or small ornaments. This is the picture from the magazine. I don’t have a picture of the ones we made.
I also saw this in MS. I LOVED it! I found different silver frames and placed each of our grandparent’s wedding pictures, our parent’s wedding pictures, and a picture of us. We had it hanging at the reception. I also had the names and wedding dates on little tags under each picture- this picture was from right after making them so those aren’t included yet.
To collect all the wedding cards, I made this wedding card box that looks like a wedding cake. I used paper mache boxes. Cut holes in the tops and bottoms so the cards would fall all the way to the bottom and glued them together. I also cut a small slit in the top to slip the cards in. I covered it with white fabric and then ribbon in our wedding colors. I added rhinestones around the edges for a little extra flair.
For the reception, my mom sewed the table cloth for the cake table. It’s brown fabric and then she sewed green around the edges.
On all the main tables, she sewed a small brown square to bring the brown to the tables and then all the tables had different vases. Some we bought as is, others were plain or the wrong color and we just spray painted them our colors. We then sprayed sticks white for added height and all of the flowers in the vases were white. Each vase had the same type of flower in them but all the vases were different (make sense?). In order to save some money, a few tables had JUST candles on them with rose petals.
My mom also sewed the points for the wedding party table showed in the background of this picture.
Our wedding favors were clear ornaments and I just shredded blue and green cardstock and stuff it into each ornament.
And the last thing we created were these Plexie Glass Boxes. I can’t remember which magazine I found this in but we put them out front and on the back deck at our reception with candles inside. LOVE THEM! We didn’t hang any but we put ribbon in our wedding colors and white candles in them.
So that is everything that was made by us for our wedding. I had a breakdown in the middle of making it all freaking out it wouldn’t all look good but I am so happy with how it all came out in the end!
