Guest Post: Under the Table and Dreaming

Happy Holidays. I’m Stephanie Lynn from Under the Table and Dreaming and I’m excited to be visiting today. Thanks so much Allison for the invite.

With so much to be thankful for this year, a thoughtful project was on my to-do for season. Since Thanksgiving is right around the corner I wanted something quick and easy. I came up with this paper garland made from a few supplies I had stored away. It can be made in less than an hour and customized by you, your family and even holiday guests.

Begin by laying a sheet of 8 1/2 X 11 scrapbook paper {or cardstock} horizontal, and cut it into long strips. The width of the strips will determine how big your finished paper wheels will be – I made mine about 2 inches for a smaller banner.

Fold each strip ‘accordion’ style. {you will need two strips for each paper wheel}

Connect the edges of the folded strips together at each end to form a circle, gluing in place.

Lay out a piece of string or twine the length that you would like your garland to be and evenly space your paper wheels.

Punch a number of circles from a piece of cardstock to use for the backing base of each paper wheel. Lay the circle on a flat surface, apply some glue, then place the strung in the center.

Glue the paper wheel on top with hot glue.

The ‘Thankful’ centers can be hand written or simply printed on cardstock from your computer.

Using a smaller punch than the circumference of your paper wheels, punch them out making sure to center the wording.

Glue your ‘thankfuls’ on top the paper wheels to complete.

Hope everyone has a fabulous holiday. Thanks again Allison!
