How to Make a Loopy Flyer
I hope you all had a fabulous Easter weekend with your family and friends!
Are your kids on Spring Break or is that over already?
Not having P in preschool this year, I am not sure when everyone has their breaks anymore and I know it is different for everyone.
Well, if they ARE on break and you are looking for something fun to do with kids, I have an easy project for you. And if they have already had their break, then it is a fun weekend project or something to save for summer.
It doesn’t look like much, and seriously took like 5 mins to create, but we had fun with it outside trying to see how we could get it to fly. Plus, it is something you can make on a rainy day and play inside as well!
Here is how you can make your own.
-Construction or Card stock Paper
First you need to measure out the paper to cut out the paper strips to make the loops.
Use a paper cutter to easy cut the paper in a straight line.
You need to cut two different size strips.
The first: 1 inch wide by 7 inches long
The second: 3/4 inches wide by 6 inches long
The the ends of the strips together to make two circles making sure that one loop stays larger than the other.
I used double sided tape to do this but you could just use normal scotch tape as well.
Then tape the circles to the straw toward each end of the straw but not right at the end.
Now you are ready to throw!
We headed out and taught P how to hold it and throw and it was fun!
She really enjoyed seeing it fly and loop around!
I will say, after playing around with it for a bit, we found that you want to let it go high, not straight in front of you like a paper airplane. The higher it goes the better the loops are!
Hope you and your kiddos make some!
It is fun!
