I made it into the Top 5 in the Creative Bloggers Got Talent competition!
Yahoo for being a finalist!
Want to see the project I created and submitted for the round that got me there!?
Here ya go!

Here’s how to make one for yourself.
Supplies:
-Large piece of wood the size you would like your board (I used a piece of MDF we already had)
-Molding or some sort of trim to create a frame (I used old tobacco sticks we already had)
-Chalkboard paint
-Primer
-Decorative knobs
-Small hooks
-A piece of metal or a metal ruler
-Paint cans or some other type of storage container
-Twine or string
-Small roll of craft paper

It is best to do this with whatever wood you use though so your chalkboard paint doesn’t just get absorb.

I used Martha Stewart’s turquoise chalkboard paint.

Since I was using tobacco sticks that we already had on hand, they were already a certain length so I just mounted them on top of the board to frame out the board.
You could obviously, place them on the side to cover up the blue edge.
I haven’t done it yet but I just plan on painting the edge brown or just gluing a fun decorative ribbon to the edge.

We lined them up at the top of the board and screwed them in place.

This will be used to hold down the craft paper and you can also use it to tear the paper when you want a fresh start.

I used some twine to string through the craft paper and tied it to the knobs.
This way when the paper runs out it can be easily replaced.
You could also use a dowel rod and some hooks that let the dowel roll when you pull the paper.
Fill the paint cans with whatever supplies you think you may need!

I added some vinyl to the board above the craft paper saying “Create” to inspire a little creativity.
Glued some coffee filter flowers to one corner to girlie it up a bit.
And then filled the paint cans with markers and crayons.

All you have to do is roll up the craft paper and take down the paint cans and you are good to go with chalk!
This will eventually be used by Baby M so I hope she enjoys it!
For the time being… I guess I get to have fun with it! 😉
Linking up to some of these parties.
