Ombre Glittered Candle Tutorial

I created this as my entry for the Pinterest Challenge on Monday after I saw this pin. You can check out the original post here.
I changed mine up a little and made it with an Ombre effect but it is SOOOO simple and fast to do.
I love how it came out!

Here’s how to make one for yourself.
 Supplies:
-Candle- can be in glass like mine or just a regular pillar candle
-Glitter
-Double sided tape
-Wax Paper- to catch the excess glitter
To start, make sure your glass is nice and clean.
Place your double sided tape on the glass where you want your glitter to start and go around the jar until the ends overlap slightly.
Only place ONE strip of tape at a time!!

Choose the color glitter you want to start with and apply to the piece of tape.
After you apply your glitter, tap off excess.
The glitter will stick to the glass, just take a damp cloth or baby wipe to wipe it away. I also just found a sticky cloth by Martha Stewart at Michael’s that is specifically made for picking up glitter.

Once all your glitter is cleaned off the glass, apply another strip of tape.
Apply your next shade of glitter.
This was a light pink glitter with some silver mixed in with it.
Repeat tape process.
I used a hot pink shade as my third color of glitter.
I had enough room on my jar for 2 more colors.
For my next color, I mixed the hot pink glitter of my 3rd stripe with some red glitter that will be my last stripe.
Apply next strip of tape.
And apply mixed glitter to the tape.
I think I should have added a little more red glitter but there IS a slight difference in shades.
And my last stripe is covered in red glitter.
Clean off any excess glitter and you are done!
Told ya it was easy!!
And it looks super pretty and shimmery in the sun too! πŸ™‚

Your candle turned out beautifully! I particularly like those colors, but it would look good in blues, greens, purples, etc also.

This is so pretty, bright & cheerful. I love sparkly things! It seems like it doesn't make as much of a mess as using glue and glitter. Did you make the candle, too?

Love how this turned out. Love the pink and red for Valentine's Day, but it would be fun to do in all colors.

Hi Allison, I'm visiting from Flamingo Toes, and I noticed your ombre because I linked up a pink ombre project too! This is such a cute idea. I don't know why, but it never occurs to me to use double sided tape for glitter. Duh! The candle looks awesome. So glad you shared!

Love this! I'm a big candle fan, but their ugly stickers? Not so much! This is a great way to pretty them up– and I do love glitter and ombre!
