I received this computer to review from Staples but all opinions in this post are 100% my own.
It was a pretty good day when this happy mail arrived.
Travis and I immediately pulled it out of the box and started it up.
It is SUPER light, only weighing 2.5 lbs., and compact being only 0.8 inches thin which is great if you travel a lot.
Plus, it has over 6.5 hours of battery life.
The Chromebook uses a Google Chrome Operating System and comes with the leading Google products, like Gmail and Hangouts already built-in. Plus, you can download thousands of other web apps from the Web Store.
I have really enjoyed using the Samsung Chromebook.
The screen is nice and bright with vibrant colors.
Back to the battery, it totally runs cool too. So no hot lap for you! And you can barely hear it running.
the computer actually shuts completely down every time you close it and
starts up within a matter of seconds! It is amazing! Like you seriously
blink and it is up and ready to use.
It has taken me some time to get used to the size of it though since it is a lot smaller than the computers I am used to using.
The user manual is well… pointless! It was the thickest book full of no information in a ton of different languages.
All the features are great but there were a few things that were a little difficult to figure out or get used too.
It took us a while to figure out how to properly use the touch mouse pad, especially for scrolling. And again, seeing that the user manual was pointless, we had to figure it out on our own. You actually have to use 2 fingers on the touchpad to scroll down a webpage, which takes a while to get used too.
Travis noticed that there wasn’t a way to right click on the mouse pad and he would have liked that option as well, which I agree because I do use that feature frequently on a regular mouse.
But you can always just plug in a portable mouse into the USB drive and use that instead of the mousepad so those issues wouldn’t be a problem.
Other than that, it is a great computer!
It is definitely something I would grab and pack up when heading to a blogging conference or on any trip.
