We have had these silver plates since we lived in KY and I have JUST now got them up on the wall.
Yeah, it has been a while but with moving twice I just now got around to it.
We bought them at one of our favorite thrifty antique stores and I left them as is with the patina instead of polishing them back to the silver. I liked the aged look and well, I know the patina will just come back anyways.
This was a really simple project and I am sure you all can figure it all out but I will still share how I hung my plates.
I pulled out all my plates and laid them out to see what I had.
I then took out some craft paper and traced around each plate.
I cut out the shapes so this way I could play around with the placement of my plates on the wall and see them visually without actually putting the plates up and moving them around.
I just taped them up on the wall and changed them a few times until I had a pattern I was happy with.
Once I decided which pattern I liked, I just used the Command Picture Hanging Strips on the back of them to hang them on the wall.
I placed the large plates on the wall first and I left all the paper templates on the wall until it was time to hang the plate that matched the template. That way I could see spacing between each plate.
I am happy I finally have these bad boys up on the wall.
Next time we move, hopefully it won’t take me so long to hang them!
