Easy S’mores Brownies

This post is brought to you my Homeright. All opinions are 100% my own. This post does contain an affiliate link.
Summer is winding down, some of your kiddos may have already started school, but that doesn’t mean that the summer fun has to stop immediately. With the cooler weather of Autumn looming in the near future, time around a fire with family will continue for some time.
S’mores are a favorite of mine. I mean really, who doesn’t like a good s’more?
With the girls as little as they are, it is a messy time making and eating them over a fire but we still want some sort of treat so why not combine s’mores with brownies?!
These are so easy and you can easily change them up if you’d like!
-Favorite Brownie mix or recipe
-Mini Marshmallows
-Graham crackers
-Hershey bars
If you’d like, replace the Hershey bars with Peanut Butter Cups, M&Ms, or whatever your favorite candy is!

Begin by making the brownie batter and baking it accordingly.
While the brownies are baking, chop up the graham crackers and chocolate bars.
Once the brownies are thoroughly cooked, pulled them out and top with the marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate pieces.
Place back in oven for a few minutes to allow the marshmallows and chocolate to melt.
You can also place under the broiler to give them a nice brown crisp like a real campfire.
Once everything is all nice and ooey gooey, pull out and let cool.
Look how the marshmallows just melted and smothered the brownie. Mmmmm!
A favorite way we like to enjoy these are served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top!
It is oh so good!!
And we love to eat them outside around our fire pit and we can easily do that now within minutes with the Electro-Light Fire Starter from HomeRight.
You guys! This thing is seriously magic!
You can have a fire blazing or a charcoal grill burning in a matter of minutes!
From spark, to small flames, to roaring fire, there is no waiting around to get a fire going and drowning the logs with lighter fluid or other chemicals any longer!
Instead it uses super hot air to ignite, then fans the flames with a built-in blower to grow the fire.
And since you can have the camp fire lit in no time, you can enjoy these S’mores Brownies that much sooner!
So run out and find an Electro-Light at a store near you or Amazon and keep those fires burning a little longer and enjoy a delicious treat as well! 🙂

Hazel & Ruby Holiday Advent Calendar

After a whirlwind of a week with my parents here trying to help us get some projects completed, I was finally able to sit down and have some fun crafting with one of the new holiday kits from Hazel and Ruby which can be picked up at JoAnn Craft Stores.
Many of my blogging friends were able to create their own kit for the holiday line and I was able to play with the kit that my friend Katie from Sweet Rose Studio created which was a Holiday Advent Calendar.
These kits are so fun and are meant to be completed in one afternoon or a crafternoon. 😉
The kits have the finished product on the back and then a list of items you would need to complete the craft, which won’t be too much since everything you need to make the craft comes in the kit itself.

When you open you kit, all the supplies are there for you. How great is that?!
There is a little card included as well that has all the directions explaining how to create the craft.
I was able to whip up the calendar rather quickly. And here’s how it went.
I started by folding the paper accordion style. The paper is already scored for you so it is fast.
Glue the ends together and then press it down to created a rosette.
Glue the red circle provided to the center to keep the rosette flat.
I decided to fold and glue my rosettes all at one time and then I separated them into groups. They are double sided so I would make 3 of one pattern and then 2 of the opposite side.
I separated them so when it came to putting the numbers on, I could easily see all the patterns and space them out. I may be a little OCD like that. lol
Time to glue on the gold chip board numbers to the circles for each day of your calendar.
Then just glue some clothes pin on the back and they are ready to go!
The kit also comes with these cute polka dot bags to place your special advent treats in along with a ribbon to hang them on.
I thought it would be fun to place it on the wall like a tree so I just zigged zagged the ribbon back and forth then just placed everything on the ribbon.
I plan on putting in some candy, stickers, and small little things the girls would enjoy in the bags counting down til Christmas. I think they’ll really enjoy counting down this year.
Be sure to stop by JoAnn Craft Stores to pick up your own Hazel and Ruby Advent Calendar craft kit or just check out the other kits to see what you may want to create.

Prevent those Saggy Bottoms with New Pampers Cruisers

When I was in high school, my principal would always say something about guys having “sagging, bagging britches” and to this day every time I see my child with a diaper that is hanging low, I hear his voice say that.
I have used Pampers diapers ever since Miss P was born and still love them to this day with Miss S so when I heard that Pampers made some changes to their Pampers Cruisers to make them sag less with new extra absorb channels that help distribute wetness evenly and keep your baby drier, I had to run out to my local Target store to grab some.

It isn’t too often that Miss S’s diaper is so incredibly wet that it sags but it does happen after naps sometimes, if we are driving long distances or if we are out running errands.
I took this picture of her after her nap one day and as you can see, it is quite full and quite low and she clearly isn’t happy that I am taking her picture. Shhh, don’t tell her that I put it up here on the blog! 😉
She clearly isn’t wearing shorts right now but if she was, it would look like she perhaps had something in her diaper other than it just being wet. I always feel bad when I notice her diaper looking like this and want to get her changed pretty quickly.
The new Pampers Cruisers fit nice and even when we were traveling to TN, they didn’t seem quite so full when we were able to stop to change her diaper.
Of course, they are still great with a baby on the go that is constantly exploring and moving all parts of her body!
I never have to worry about these diapers not holding in the wetness or those nasty stinky diapers no matter what she is doing.
Yay for no more sagging, bagging britches!!
And another plus is that kiddos don’t look like they have a super full nasty diaper when they are clothed either! Gotta love that!
Pop by your local Target store or online and snag some new Pampers Cruisers for yourself!
Now through September 5, Buy 2 Pampers Giant Packs, Get $10 Gift Card! (Giant Packs include: Pampers Cruisers and Pampers Swaddlers diapers and both offers will be available in store and online)

Rug Pad USA- Cushion for under those Feet

** This post is sponsored by Rug Pad USA but all opinions are 100% my own. **
We have a super large rug in our family room area that we bought many years ago, you’ve probably noticed it in the background of pictures here on the blog.
We bought it when we still lived on Fort Eustis, VA shortly after we bought new living room furniture so it has been with us for some time and through many moves so needless to say, it has lost a lot of the cushion and is pretty flat.
Sitting on the floor playing with the girls is uncomfortable and in the winter, slightly chilly since the rug is on our hardwood floors which are over concrete floors.
I have been considering buying a rug pad for quite some time and that is where Rug Pad USA came to the rescue.
Rug Pad USA has so many different pad options to choose from and they are all made in the good old USA. Plus, they are eco-friendly! Can’t get better than that!
They have a whole page dedicated to rug pads for hardwood floors so I began browsing to find the perfect fit for our home.
After looking at all the options, I went with the Premium Lock Rug Pad in 1/4 in. thickness.
My rug pad came quickly and I was excited to get in in place.
It came all rolled up wrapped in plastic.
I think Miss P was excited about a little extra cushion because she started rolling it out before we even finished moving the furniture and rug out of the way.

The rug pad has a felt top to grip to the back of the rug so it stays in place.
And it also has rubber on the back to keep the pad in place without
damaging the hardwood floors.
I was excited to feel it once we got the rug back in place. I thought it would be softer since our rug was so flat but I was SOOOO surprised at how much softer and how much more cushion the rug actually had with only 1/4 in. rug pad under it!!
For the next few days, every time Travis and I stepped on it we were both like, “Wow! It is so soft!”
And I am pretty sure both girls appreciate the extra cushion while playing on the floor and I bet it is much softer on Miss S’ knees while crawling.
It hasn’t been cold enough yet to notice a difference in the chilliness of the floor while playing but I am anxious to see how it is when we have those 30 degree days in CO.
If you are in the market for a new rug pad be sure to visit Rug Pad USA!

BeddingStyle Giveaway!

** I was given bedding from to review. All opinions are 100% my own. **
Happy Tuesday!
I have something fun for you today.
Do you want some new bedding to give your bedroom and fresh look? Is your bedding just tore up or dirty from your pets, kids, or well, you?!
Then today is your lucky day!
One lucky winner will win $200 to! Whooo!
Shopping for bedding can be a daunting task! So many places to shop with so many options, it can get overwhelming fast! This is where comes in. has so many styles to choose from, from top designers like Vera Wang, Candice Olsen, Nicole Miller, Betsy Johnson and many more!!
I have been in the market, ok, I am in the market frequently for new bedding, since I was getting tired of our current look.
I loved it when I first saw it, by the time I finally bought it, I still LIKED it but wasn’t in love anymore but still went with it. So I have pretty much secretly been looking for new bedding ever since this came home. Shhh… don’t tell Travis! 😉

I was so excited that I was able to pick some new bedding from so after browsing the selections, I decided to go with this Milan Bedding by City Scene duvet cover to review.
I was a little excited to get it on the bed as soon as it came, notice the lines from it being folded…oops, that I went on upstairs and got it on my bed.
It is gray, blue, with bright yellow accents and I am amazed how the gray and blue just so happen to match our wall color and curtains exactly!!! PERFECT!
I love the main pattern on top and then the change of pattern and color on the back for a little pop!
The fabric is soft which is obviously a good thing since you’ll be cuddled underneath it.
And I also love that the pattern on the front of the duvet, also goes with our stenciled wall across the room. It’s like I planned it!
And I just wanted to give you a up close shot of the fabrics because, why not?!
Also, I forgot to take a picture of it but the closure for the duvet cover is so nice too. I had one in the past that was just at one end of the cover so you could see the buttons and the insert. This one folds over a little then has the buttons which are hidden so you have no idea what is inside.
Ok so… who can use or wants some new bedding?! Raise your hand and say “I!”
All you have to do is enter in the rafflecopter widget below and you can be picking out your new bedding next week!
PLEASE NOTE: by entering this giveaway, you are giving permission to contact you through email.  Good?! Good!!
Winner will be announced Wednesday, October 1st.

Wallternatives Wall Decal Review

**This post is sponsored by Wallternatives but all opinions are 100% my own!**
We have a large tv that is big and dark.
Above the tv was one of those last name photo collages made of pictures of letters found in architecture, my brother-in-law gave it to us for Christmas one year.
It is a black and white photo in a black frame so it just added to the darkness and I was READY for a change.
Insert a new line from Royal Design Studio Stencils called Wallternatives.
Here is a description of what Wallternatives straight from the source:
“Wallternatives™ ARE the artful alternative to ordinary walls. At Wallternatives™, our goal is to provide easily applied Pattern for the People™.
That’s you! And not just any old patterns! We want you to have your
choice of the most delightful pattern options, offered across a variety
of material options to suit every design demand and surface requirement.
We are committed to empowering you to create a home that is more
colorful, more fun, more expressive, and more designed around “you”
without investing a lot of time!”
Wallternatives come in many options and tons of colors to choose from as well:
– WallPrints™ Fabric Decals
-ChalkTalk™ Chalkboard Art
Designer Vinyl Decals
-WallAppeal™ Removable Wallpaper (COMING SOON)
EtchLook™ Decals to look like etched glass(COMING SOON)
I had the opportunity to receive and review a Wallternative design before their launch.
I was able to pick the design and the color of the design that I wanted.

My decal arrived in two pieces on vinyl transfer sheets.
I placed my design on the wall and measured and marked where I wanted it.
I then rubbed the vinyl down while it still had the backing of the transfer tape on it.
Rub it well, then rub some more!
I then peeled off the whole backing gently. If any pieces of the vinyl do not stick to the transfer tape, carefully peel it off and press onto the transfer tape.
Then I went to get up on my step ladder to apply it to the wall and… BOOM!
The static from the tv and the static in the vinyl just magnetized towards each other and my vinyl got stuck to the tv!
After trying not to have a complete and utter freak out, I asked Travis to help.
I carefully peel off the design from the tv and laid it on the table but as you can see, some of it stuck to the tv… NO!!
I carefully peeled them back off and found where they belonged on the transfer tape and placed them back down.
And then I was good to go for another try!
This time I folded it in half- non sticky side to non sticky side of course- and lined up the top of the transfer tape with the marks I put on the wall.
I pressed down the top area, smoothing out any bubbles and holding the bottom section off the wall.
Then, I gradually worked down the design pressing down and out.
Now it is time to RUB, RUB, RUB that vinyl.
When you think you have rubbed that vinyl enough, rub it a little more!
Begin peeling off the tape from one corner and pull diagonally.
If any of the vinyl stays on the transfer tape, place the tape back down and rub that area some more.
I had a few areas that didn’t stick well, I believe it was due to our extremely textured walls, so I had to start to peel them off with my finger nail to get them onto the wall.
If some areas still didn’t stick well after I completely peeled away the transfer tape, I just rubbed them with my finger to get them to fully stick.
Here is the complete frame on the wall.
I then centered the “M” inside the frame and rubbed it well.
And it was complete!!
I think it looks great above our television and I love that the whole area looks so much brighter as well!
Stop on by the Wallternatives website to check out all the super fun designs and options.
If you are nervous about applying them, they have a great page on tips about how to apply them.

Lucky Rainbow Sign Tutorial

I received the Chevron Stencil and I knew I wanted another St. Patrick’s Day craft so this is what I created with the help from my stencil.
Want to know how I created it… here ya go!
-Wooden Plaque
-Mod Podge
-Mod Podge Rocks! Peel and Stick Stencil
-Glitter in colors of Rainbow
-cutting machine or letter stencils
-Mod Podge Dimensional Magic (I used the one with gold glitter)
I had to start by giving my plaque a light sanding since it already had a finish on it.
I’ve had this plaque for a few years and bought it at the Habitat for Humanity Restore.
Once sanded, I wiped it clean of all the dust.
If you have an unfinished plaque, then you don’t have to worry about this part.

Give your plaque a few coats of white paint. Let dry.
Time to use your stencil!
I lined up the stencil with one end of my plaque and made sure it was as straight as possible.
Press the stencil down to make sure it sticks to the wood to prevent bleeding.
Now, here is where I changed things up a bit from the way you are actually suppose to use the stencil.
You are suppose to put down the Mod Podge then remove the stencil, well since I was using so many shades of glitter, I didn’t remove it until after I sprinkled the glitter so my colors didn’t mix.
Anyways…I determined that I should do 4 rows of chevron for each color for the length of my plaque so I covered 4 rows of chevron with the Mod Podge.

Then, I covered the Mod Podge with the red glitter. Knock off the extra glitter as you go.
I moved on by covering the next 4 rows with Mod Podge and then using orange glitter and kept going with the colors of the rainbow.
I continued until the stencil was covered and then immediately pulled it off carefully.
I then let this section dry before finishing the rest of the colors on the plaque.
While this was drying, I washed off my stencil with warm water and a little soap. No worries… the stickiness on the back stays!!
I will say though, I had to also wash the back of the stencil because some of the glitter stuck to the stickiness and if I wanted it to stick well again, I had to remove the glitter. I knew this would happen but if you are only using one color of glitter, you can follow the directions of how to use the stencil. 😉
Once the first section of the stencil was dry, I lined up the stencil with the last few row of chevron that was already complete in order to finish the stencil and last few colors.
Once it was completely dry, I used some canned air to remove any of the loose glitter that was left behind.
Next, I used my Cricut to cut out the word Lucky in black cardstock.
I centered the letters on the plaque and glued them down.
I made sure to press each letter firmly when gluing since they were on the glitter and the plaque.
I used some Mod Podge Dimensional Magic, with gold glitter, to add a little something more to the letters.
I just placed it on each letter and let dry. It is still wet in this picture that is why it looks cloudy but it dries clear.
Here is a shot of the Dimensional Magic all dry on the letters with the gold flecks.
This sign was rather easy to make and for me, it was free since I had all the supplies already. Wooo!
I made a 4 leaf clover out of some cardstock and backed it with the cardboard from a cereal box to make it sturdier and affixed it to the side of the sign.
I love how it turned out and can’t wait to use it to add a little something to my St. Patty’s Day decor.
You can visit the Plaid site to learn all about how to use these great Stencils so you can either recreate this project or come up with an awesome project of your own.

Samsung Chromebook Review

I received this computer to review from Staples but all opinions in this post are 100% my own.
I recently was lucky enough to receive a Samsung Chromebook from Staples to review.
It was a pretty good day when this happy mail arrived.
Travis and I immediately pulled it out of the box and started it up.
It is SUPER light, only weighing 2.5 lbs., and compact being only 0.8 inches thin which is great if you travel a lot.
Plus, it has over 6.5 hours of battery life.
The Chromebook uses a Google Chrome Operating System and comes with the leading Google products, like Gmail and Hangouts already built-in. Plus, you can download thousands of other web apps from the Web Store.
I have really enjoyed using the Samsung Chromebook.
The screen is nice and bright with vibrant colors.

Back to the battery, it totally runs cool too. So no hot lap for you! And you can barely hear it running.
the computer actually shuts completely down every time you close it and
starts up within a matter of seconds! It is amazing! Like you seriously
blink and it is up and ready to use.

It has taken me some time to get used to the size of it though since it is a lot smaller than the computers I am used to using.
The user manual is well… pointless! It was the thickest book full of no information in a ton of different languages.
All the features are great but there were a few things that were a little difficult to figure out or get used too.
It took us a while to figure out how to properly use the touch mouse pad, especially for scrolling. And again, seeing that the user manual was pointless, we had to figure it out on our own. You actually have to use 2 fingers on the touchpad to scroll down a webpage, which takes a while to get used too.
Travis noticed that there wasn’t a way to right click on the mouse pad and he would have liked that option as well, which I agree because I do use that feature frequently on a regular mouse.
But you can always just plug in a portable mouse into the USB drive and use that instead of the mousepad so those issues wouldn’t be a problem.
Other than that, it is a great computer!
It is definitely something I would grab and pack up when heading to a blogging conference or on any trip.
Pop on over to the Staples website and you can read more information on the Samsung Chromebook for yourself.
