I created something a little patriotic that you can use as decor any where in your home.
It is an easy project and here is how I created it.
-3D wooden star (bought at Hobby Lobby)
-Wooden USA letters
Begin by tracing the star on the back of the scrapbook paper and then cut out.
When you cut out the paper star, it will be the width of the entire star and not the inner portion. So measure the with of the edge of the star and then trim the paper down to that size. You could also place the paper inside the star and using a bone folder, press the paper into place, then pull it out and cut along the creases.
Paint the wooden star and let dry. I chose white because I wanted that paper to stand out.
I then used a dark brown ink and a red ink along the edges to antique up the star a little.
Mod Podge the scrapbook paper into the center of the star and let dry.
White the Mod Podge is drying, paint the USA letters. I went with red to pop off the white.
I decided to use some blue stickles to create some dots on the letters.
Once the stickles is dry, use some hot glue and glue the letters to the star.
Place it on a table, use as a centerpiece, or you can even attach some twine to the back and make it for the door or just hang it on the wall. Whatever!
