So here it goes!
There are many different places you can buy vinyl- some by the roll, some are just sheets.
The easiest way to cut vinyl is with some sort of cutting machine like a cricut or silhouette.
If you do not have one of those, you could always just use an exacto knife to cut out an image.
I use my Cricut machine to cut out an image from one of my cartridges.
Take the vinyl image off the cutting mat, with the vinyl backing still on.
Place the image on the non sticking side of the transfer tape. Try to center it and make it straight. Use ruler if needed.
Then take the sticky side of the transfer tape and cover the image- starting in the center.
Burnish the transfer tape on top of the image to make sure it adheres.
To apply to your surface, just remove the transfer backing. The vinyl backing should come off as well. Center and make sure your image is straight and lay it on the surface.
Burnish the image again so the vinyl sticks to the surface.
If you don’t have any vinyl and want to try this out, you should check out Expressions Vinyl in my sidebar.
